A green commute
In fact, at 78% of Christie® offices globally, employees commute to work without a car. Christie employees are walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling and taking public transit to get to work each day.
Bike or walk to work day
To further encourage a green commute, every May, Christie USA participates in Bike or Walk to Work Day. Employees are encouraged to leave their vehicle at home and ride a bike or walk to work. They are treated to a healthy breakfast as well as two free movie tickets. The goal of Christie’s participation in the Bike to Work Week/Day is to develop bicycling (and walking) as a great form of exercise, form of transportation to the work place, improve parking, decrease traffic congestion, improve air quality, and promote safe bicycle commuting.
Electric vehicle charging stations
Christie USA has expanded their environmental program by installing four electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Leveraging the power-generating solar panels installed at the Cypress, California, facilities, electric vehicles parked at Christie USA can charge their vehicles off of pure sunlight. These stations are free for Christie employees and visitors to use.
