Community gardens

Both Christie USA and Christie Canada have community gardens for all employees who are interested in growing their own food as well as getting a little exercise. Christie Canada also installed a custom water reservoir to collect rainwater from their roof for the garden.

Staff volunteers act as gardeners and jointly determine what to grow, purchase the plants and seedlings and plant the garden.​

The garden gives Christie employees:

• a quiet, beautiful place to visit outside,

• exercise from gardening,

• an opportunity to self-manage a project and learn new skills and information,

• a chance to meet new colleagues and

• fresh, healthy produce. Recipe swaps are common and focused on whatever is ready for harvest at the time.

The Christie Canada and USA gardens will soon again be in full bloom with plants and vegetables.
