Conserving water
In response to this regulation, Christie® office in Cypress, California established a new environmental management program with a target of 16% irrigation water reduction compared to the 2013 baseline data.
Christie upgraded the smart timer irrigation controllers at the facility with two-way communication, which allows restricting outdoor irrigation if State regulations dictate.
This change is in addition to other changes Christie initiated as far back as 2009 when weather-based irrigation controllers were installed at Cypress building locations. These devices automatically adjust the landscape watering time and frequency in response to the changing weather. The results have been excellent. Water usage has been reduced by an average of 53%.
