CANNES, France - Christie® will power screenings at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, from May 14-25. This marks the 18th year Christie has partnered with Cannes, and its projectors, both RGB pure laser illumination and its new series 4 Xenon-based systems, will be used in 24 spaces throughout the festival, including at the flagship Grand Théâtre Lumière room.

“It’s been our pleasure to support the film festival for nearly two decades,” says Adil Zerouali, senior sales director, Cinema EMEA, Christie. The Festival is amongst the most well-loved Festival on the global stage, and this year, we will be able to showcase the latest releases using a broad range of technologies, demonstrating Christie’s ability to deliver impactful projection in screenings of all sizes. We continue to work with the Festival and the Commission Supérieure Technique de l'Image et du Son (CST) to ensure the Festival remains at the forefront of exceptional cinematic experiences. As ever, there is an incredibly exciting line-up of films on show, and we aim to offer the best possible platform to allow filmmakers’ creativity to shine.”

This year’s lineup includes a much-anticipated screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Megalopolis,’ which is the director’s first movie in a decade. Other films vying for the top prize of the prestigious Palme d’Or include Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘Kinds of Kindness’ and David Cronenberg’s ‘The Shrouds’.

Christie CP4435-RGB pure laser projectors have been installed in the Grand Théâtre Lumière and Debussy rooms, as well as at La Plage, the festival’s picturesque outdoor theatre on the beach. Christie’s flagship RGB pure laser projectors with Real|Laser™ illumination deliver outstanding color and contrast, with greater than 95% of the Rec. 2020 color space. Meanwhile, Xenon-illuminated CP4420-Xe projectors will power screenings at Bazin, Bunuel and Varda rooms, and CP2306-RGBe projectors will be used throughout the festival.
Christie is trusted by film festivals and leading content creators around the world – including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Shanghai International Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival, the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, and the Malaga Film Festival – to showcase the latest and greatest films on the biggest screens.
