SÃO PAULO, Brazil — Christie®, in collaboration with OrionPC, is pleased to announce several new deals implemented under Christie’s pioneering Cinema Rental Program. The deals, a result of Christie’s successful attendance at Expocine in October, add over 100 new screens to the program across Brazil. This program continues to transform the cinema projection landscape in Brazil by providing exhibitors with state-of-the-art technology at a fraction of the purchase cost.

Christie’s Cinema Rental Program, developed four years ago in Brazil, offers a “cinema as a service” model. This model enables exhibitors to acquire the latest RGB pure laser projectors without upfront capital investments. This program has been instrumental in allowing operators to modernize their projection systems intelligently and affordably by addressing the financial challenges many cinemas faced during and after the pandemic.

The new screens include installations with major Brazilian exhibitors, smaller cinema chains, and independent operators such as Cine Londrina, Paradigma Cine Arte, On Projecoes, Cine X, and Estoque. They join a growing list of exhibitors already leveraging Christie’s Cinema Rental Program, including Cineflix, Multicine Cinemas, Cine Gracher, Spcine, FAAP, Casarão de Ideias, Moviplex, and Cine Quelipe. Christie now has 200 screens operating under this rental model in Brazil.

The Christie Rental Program includes all of Christie’s RGB pure laser cinema models, ranging from 2K to 4K resolution, catering to various needs and budgets. The program offers brightness levels suitable for screen sizes from boutique to mainstream and Premium Large Format (PLF). This includes Christie’s CineLife+™ RBe projectors featuring Phazer™ illumination technology, which are specifically designed for smaller screens, and provide exceptional value with low maintenance and long-life performance.

“Christie is proud to lead the way in Brazil with our Cinema Rental Program, which reflects our commitment to supporting the cinema industry,” said Ricardo Laporta, regional sales manager, cinema, Christie Brazil. “Our unique model not only allows cinemas to upgrade to exceptional projection technology but also provides the flexibility needed to adapt to changing market conditions. This is a game-changer for exhibitors of all sizes. Brazil-based exhibitors can use the Christie Rental Program with a simple and easy turn-key contract that can be expanded at the speed of their operations.”

OrionPC manages financing, installation, maintenance, and repairs throughout the contract period. This partnership ensures that cinema operators can confidently provide audiences with the latest in projection technology.

Diego Lopez, cinema sales director, Christie, Latin America, stated, “With comprehensive maintenance support included, this model not only contributes to the growth of the number of cinema screens in Brazil but also ensures that both large and small exhibitors reap the benefits. By facilitating the expansion of cinemas into new regions of the country, we are strengthening the industry as a whole. Our rental program is designed to maintain excellence in the cinematic experience, ensuring that audiences everywhere can enjoy the best in projection technology.”

Christie anticipates signing an additional 30 to 50 screens under the Cinema Rental Program before the end of December, further solidifying its leadership in the Brazilian cinema market.
