SHANGHAI – Christie® will be displaying its leadership in Premium Large Format (PLF) projection and RGB pure laser technology at the CinemaS Shanghai International Film Forum and Exhibition (CinemaS), to be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from June 16-18.
Organized in conjunction with the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival where Christie is providing cinema projection and support for major screenings and events, CinemaS is the first in-person major cinema tradeshow to be held in China since the COVID-19 pandemic began. It serves as an ideal platform for Christie to reaffirm strong support for its partners and customers, and showcase the latest cinema technologies designed to further improve cost of operation.
“Christie’s state-of-the-art RGB pure laser cinema projectors have constantly pushed the envelope and redefined the movie-going experience for PLF theatres with amazing visuals that keep us ahead of the competition,” said James Li, executive director, China Cinema, Christie. “A growing number of exhibitors have recognized the numerous advantages offered by our expanding range of RGB laser cinema projectors in terms of performance, dependability and total cost of ownership. We look forward to greater adoption of Christie’s cinema technologies by exhibitors seeking to deliver a truly stunning cinematic experience to movie-goers.”
Making its worldwide debut at CinemaS is the new CP4415-RGB, a 4K-resolution, 15,000-lumen pure laser cinema projector equipped with Christie Real|Laser™ technology for screens up to 18 meters (58 feet) wide.
Another highlight is the Christie CP4450-RGB large-format projector complete with dual-laser optical systems (LOS) and high-speed CineLife+ electronics capable of 4K@120Hz HFR playback. The CP4450-RGB is specially designed to deliver stunning visuals in PLF auditoriums for an unprecedented movie-going experience. The CINITY Cinema System, developed by Christie for Huaxia Film and widely deployed in cinemas across China, is based on the CP4450-RGB’s architecture and technology.
Also on static display is the Christie CP2308-RGBe, a high value RGB laser cinema projector ideal for small screen cinemas. Equipped with a highly efficient, sealed laser light source that allows for improved image performance on high gain screens and increased light efficiency, the CP2308-RGBe offers low maintenance operation and DCI brightness for 30,000 hours.
Visitors at Christie’s booth #B001 can partake in live demonstrations using a Christie RGB pure laser cinema projector equipped with Real|Laser illumination technology that exceeds DCI standards to bring a crisp, unmatched image to the screen. With an expanded color spectrum, more available brightness, and the highest contrast, Real|Laser projectors lead the market in visual capabilities and overall efficiency.
Time-consuming tasks of aligning dual cinema projection systems has been simplified with Christie Mystique™ Cinema, a fully built-in dual-projection integration kit for DCI-compliant cinema projectors that easily aligns the images from both projectors within seconds for a completely seamless image on large screens. On show for the first time in China, Mystique Cinema is compatible with CineLife or CineLife+ projectors, allowing for super-bright 2D and 3D presentations, and enables 4K 3D content to be played at 120fps.
Christie’s strong support towards recovery of exhibition industry
As China’s exhibition industry gradually recovers due to COVID-19, Christie will reassert its strong support to the industry with a customer event to be held at Macalline Cinema World (Wenshui Road). The event will highlight the benefits of Christie Real|Laser technology, the compelling overall cost ownership advantage it offers, and a demonstration of the CINITY Cinema System that delivers a variety of advanced technologies for an extraordinary movie-viewing experience in PLF auditoriums.
