Ohio firm also joins the Christie dealer network
CYPRESS, Calif. - Christie® is pleased to announce that Hughie’s Event Production Services has selected the Christie GS Series for its projector lineup and joined the Christie dealer network.
Founded in 1953 and based in Cleveland, Ohio with offices in Columbus and Pittsburgh, Hughie’s is a worldwide supplier of high definition video projection equipment, concert quality audio systems, LED lighting & intelligent moving lights, staging systems, onsite Scenic and fabrication shop are among its numerous products and services. Hughie’s vast and impressive portfolio includes the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, Carnegie Mellon University, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland State University, The Columbus Crew and dozens of others.
The purchase - with more to come - includes several Christie DHD1075-GS models featuring solid-state illumination, HD resolution, Christie BoldColor Technology, and 300,000:1 contrast ratio among its many attributes.
“We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Christie “The launch of the GS Series came at an ideal time because we had older projectors and were waiting for 1DLP® laser phosphor technology to get up in the intensity level,” said Brian Lackritz, general manager, Hughies Event Production Services. “ Christie was the first to bridge the 7-10,000 lumen range at a price point where rental and staging companies can get in there and start utilizing them on a daily basis.”
Lackritz noted that having the proper lenses is vital to the live events staging industry but the cost of lenses and lamps for a smaller company like Hughie’s was becoming prohibitive. However, the GS Series solved both problems.
“Lensing is key for us. We try to get the most use in lensing from these projectors and we weren’t interested in investing in a company or product that would not have longevity or the versatility that these new GS series projectors have,” Lackritz continued. ‘If I can use the Christie GS Series, I now not only have the versatility of having 4-5 different lenses I can use on the same projector. I am also doing away with lamps - which moves our company in a direction that was necessary to stay ahead of our competition in our market.”
“We’re happy to add Hughie’s to our valued dealer network,” said Mark Ouwerkerk, senior manager North American Event Based Entertainment, Christie. “They have an impressive portfolio and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
From education and corporate venues to events and beyond, professional-grade Christie GS Series models deliver premium performance and reliability in high-usage environments. The Christie GS Series eliminates the need for lamp and filter replacements, providing 20,000 hours of low-cost operation.
