In multiple-projector displays, the blend appears as a darker band where the images from each projector overlap. By controlling blend width with gradients, uniform brightness can be achieved across the image and the visible overlap will disappear. The final image appears as a single seamless, larger image. A Christie Edge Blending Kit (part # 104-102101-01) can be used to preserve contrast in areas showing black and to smooth out the overlapping and inactive areas around the image. Electronically adjusting the black levels to blend the display reduces the contrast. The mechanical blinders that are included in the Edge Blending Kit are ideal for ensuring that the contrast is preserved.

The blinders are screw-mounted and adjustable to fit the lens that is used with any Christie 3-chip DLP® projector.
