WOKINGHAM, England – Christie® is honored to continue its partnership with the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival (LFF), where its projectors power the latest and greatest cinema releases for star-studded invitees. This year’s LFF returns to the glamorous Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall where, from October 9 to 20th, Christie CP4455-RGB and Christie CP4435-RGB pure laser cinema projectors will illuminate screens.

Dominic Simmons, head of cinema technology at the British Film Institute, says, “The BFI is delighted to be supported by Christie once again for the gala screenings at the Southbank Centre for this year’s London Film Festival.  This is the fourth time we’ve installed Christie Real|Laser™ RGB projectors in the Royal Festival Hall, and each time the sharp, vivid images we’ve seen on the 18-meter (59-foot) matte white screen have been superb. The ease of installation and calibration really helps with the short ‘get-in’ needed in a temporary cinema setup, particularly with the new electronic color convergence (ECC) and Christie Pureformity Color™ Correction on the ‘4435’ and ‘4455’ models. As well as being popular with the engineers and technicians running the show, filmmakers have all been highly complementary of the projection quality.”

The BFI London Film Festival is the UK’s largest celebration of cinema and invites audiences to engage with national and international filmmakers with screenings and events in London. The Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall will again be used as the venue for both the opening and closing evenings, following record-high in-person attendance in 2023.

Christie CP4455-RGB pure laser cinema projector redefines cinematic experiences in large-format theatres, with CineLife+ electronics and Real|Laser™ illumination technology that exceeds projection standards with best-in-class operational efficiency. With the CP4455-RGB, directors can impress audiences with incredibly detailed and vibrant true-to-life 4K images.

Opening the Festival is the world premiere of Steve McQueen’s, "Blitz," starring Saoirse Ronan, Paul Weller, Stephen Graham and Elliott Heffernan. "Elton John: Never Too Late," this year’s American Express Gala, follows the life of Sir Elton John on his final U.S. live shows. The Festival closes on October 20 with the European premiere of Morgan Neville’s "Piece by Piece," in which Neville chronicles the life of cultural icon Pharrell Williams through the form of LEGO® animation.
