Here are the top 10 most-read posts on our blog
Just over a year ago, we launched this blog. It was a new endeavor, and we wanted it to represent all facets of ProAV and cinema — including the people, technology, trends, and industry events. With over 50 articles published to date, we’ve done just that. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading these articles and found inspiration, information, or interesting stories to enjoy.
We’re thrilled that tens of thousands of people have read Spotlight this year. Some articles resonated a little more than others. Our team crunched the numbers, and here are the top 10 articles we’ve published to date, starting with number 10:
10. The people who love cinema
When we started this blog, we knew we wanted to highlight the incredible people at Christie who often work behind the scenes — and not just for the work they do but for their passion for the industry. Chris Shu is a perfect example. He’s our director of marketing for Cinema, and he talks candidly about what the cinematic experience means to him in this post. We’ll introduce you to a few more folks in the year ahead.
9. Meet projection mapping artist Cindy Lo
Picking our favorite blog posts is like picking a favorite child: impossible. But we have a soft spot for this article on Cindy Lo, a massively talented projection mapping artist based in France. Lo talks about her background, the inspiration for her art, and how she uses projection mapping to calm people in the large cities where she often works.
8. What’s Rec. 2020?
At Christie, we talk a lot about the Rec. 2020 color gamut. This post explores what it means, how it differs from other color standards, and how color impacts the overall audience experience.
7. Choosing the right projector for your small space
Do we love the glitz and glamour of large-scale projection mapping, grand movie theatres, and massive LED video walls? Of course! But we also recognize that not every project is at that scale. Sometimes, you need a great, no-fuss projector for your smaller classroom, meeting space, or huddle room. This article walks you through your options.
6. Top 6 tips to choose the right projector
Speaking of choosing the right projector for your space, this article dives a little deeper into the six things you need to consider when you choose a projector for your next project. If you need a little more help selecting the right technology, check out our Projector Selection Guide, or drop us a line.
5. The story of Christie
We knew in the early planning stages of this blog that we were going to include a story about Christie. This article is one of our longer reads, but well worth it. It’s not just about our 95-year history, but about the changes and developments in the AV industry.
4. Signal Playground
We aren’t surprised that this article is near the top of the list. At Signal 2023, Czech Republic-based studio 3dsense created an eye-catching and interactive exhibit called Signal Playground: Rainbow. Part playground, part rainbow, and all fun. Check out the post – if only for the images that just radiate joy.
3. Trends in control room tech and design
While our number four post didn’t surprise us, this one did. (We’re taking this as a sign we need more posts about control rooms.) I spoke with Bill Zhu, director of product management, about three trends in control room design. Bill pointed to the shift he’s seeing away from cluttered workstations to stations with a monitor or two, keyboard, and mouse.
2. Meet the Academy Award-winning Christie E3LH
It’s hard to think of bigger news than our Academy Award® win for the Christie® E3LH Dolby® Vision Cinema Projection System. In this article, I spoke with Mike Perkins, principal product developer, who led the creation of this system and accepted the award on behalf of the Christie team.
Drum roll, please!
1. Year in Review
Our most-read post looked back at 2023 and what made it such a great year for us: the products, events, and people. Given its popularity, expect to see another ‘year in review’ in early January 2025!
Thanks for reading Spotlight and as always, drop us a line with your comments, questions, ideas for future articles, or if you’d like to talk about your favorite theme park rides.
